Hong Kong / Co-Artistic Director, Zuni Icosahedron

An experimental arts pioneer, Danny Yung is a founding member cum Co-Artistic Director of Zuni Icosahedron. Yung is widely regarded as the most influential artist in Hong Kong and the neighbouring regions, and an advocate in experimental arts and new art forms.

In 2014, Yung was the laureate of the 2014 Fukuoka Prize – Arts and Cultural Prize. In 2009, Yung was conferred the Merit Cross of the Order of Merit on Ribbon by the Federal Republic of Germany in recognition of his contribution to the arts and cultural exchange between Germany and Hong Kong. In 2008, with Tears of Barren Hill he was honoured with the Music Theatre NOW Award by UNESCO’s International Theatre Institute.

Singapore / Cross-Cultural Theatre Director

Liu Xiao-yi is an artist, curator, educator, and cultural strategist based in Singapore. He is the Artistic Director of the theatre collective Emergency Stairs and is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in contemporary experimental theatre and intercultural exchange in Asia.

Tokyo / Contemporary Theatre Performance Artist

Matsushima graduated from the Nihon University of College of Art. He launched his stage career with the Japanese dance theatre company Pappa TARAHUMARA while he was still a student, and won critical acclaim both for his performance in television and on stage. Since 1995, Matsushima began creating his own pieces, working both as choreographer and dancer. In 1997, he performed in Zuni Icosahedron’s production Invisible Cities and as solo performer and after, he has toured Asia, Europe, and the U.S. with Pappa TARAHUMARA, and participated in its Hong Kong production of Spring Day (Haruhiru) in 1998. The following year, Matsushima was the artist-in-residence of Zuni Icosahedron, and collaborated with many Hong Kong local artists in addition to giving solo performances of his works. He is also active in the areas of painting, set design and music/sound design.

Phnom Penh / Cambodian Classical And Contemporary Dance Artist

Rady Nget began his dance training in 1999, specializing in the monkey role of Lakhaon Kaol, the Cambodian classical male masked dance form. He has been dancing with Cambodia’s premiere contemporary dance company, the Amrita Performing Arts since 2010. As a classical and contemporary dancer, Nget has toured to Europe and Asia. In addition to performing in a broad range of contemporary productions, Nget has created a number of his own works including a performance of his My Memory at La MaMa in New York City in 2017. He was a featured dancer in CRACK – a new work of Cambodian contemporary dance by German choreographer Arco Renz, which was awarded the 2012 ZKB Patronage Prize in Switzerland in 2012.

Beijing / Young Wusheng

Graduated from the Bachelor of Performing (Dramatic Performing in Beijing Opera), National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts. He has followed the tutor’s suit of Zhou Long and Ma Yuzhang. He is currently a teacher at the affiliated secondary school of the China National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts.

Learn plays including: Eight Great Hammers, Yaguan Tower, Fushan, Yanyang Tower, One Arrow Revenge, The Outcast General (The Pulley), Changban Slope, Chain Loop – Paying Respects to the Mountain, and others.

Ren has received the 16th Xiaomei Flower Competition in Taizhou, the Gold Award in the Pear Blossom Cup and the National Opera Cup.
