Danny Yung is a trailblazer in experimental art with outstanding achievements in the fields of performing arts, conceptual art, visual arts, installation and comics. He is a founding member of the HKADC and also founded the Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture and participated in the founding of Zuni Icosahedron. Under the direction of Yung’s and Mathias Woo’s (Co-Artistic Director), Zuni has established itself a major driving force in cross-sector, cross-media experimental art & performing art, promoting a diverse development in arts and culture, locally and internationally.
Danny talked about the Hong Kong Arts Development Council while receiving the award, “I remember when the HKADC was in its seedling stage in 1993, we were very energetic. However the question is how to keep this vibrant energy going? Art development is a long-term work. From 1993 to now, I have always remained hopeful that there would be better developments for the HKADC.”
