BAUHAUS Lyrics Game
This time, Mathias Woo, the director says we don’t have to write the lyrics with reference to the original story of The Magic Flute, but to let kids to learn the elements in Bauhaus, including shapes, colours, proportion, space, materials, architecture, etc. Without the boundary of a story, I can entirely play with the Cantonese sounds in the game of writing lyrics for The Magic Flute.
Sing and Play in Bilingual
Not only Cantonese, English is also used in the lyrics – “circle”, “square”, “triangle”. Although English is not our mother tongue, we have been learning English since we were a kid and we are not unfamiliar with the language. Together with Cantonese, the lyrics become livelier. Of course, to express the songs, we need brilliant singers – we got Eman Lam and Yat Po Singers!
