He graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Chinese Percussion, studying under Yan Xuemin. He also traveled to Guangzhou to study Chaozhou gong and drum music with Chen Zuohui. During his studies, he received numerous scholarships and was named to the Conservatory of Music's Dean's List in recognition of his outstanding academic performance. He participated in various music conservatory concerts, masterclasses, and inter-college performances, including performance and coordination of the School of Chinese Opera's "The Sound of Gongs and Drums," the School of Drama's "Descendants of Zheng He," and the School of Theatre's "Loess and Yellow River," gaining extensive performance experience.
