Born in Canada in 1995 and currently based in Hong Kong, Darwin Ng graduated from Lingnan University with a major in Cultural Studies. He is a cross-disciplinary visual creator, director, and still photographer whose work seamlessly navigates between theatrical spaces and film sets. He excels at using experimental visual languages to expand narrative dimensions. Since 2018, he has formed a long-term collaboration with director Edward Lam, contributing to major theatrical works such as The A One and A Two Trilogy, #Girls and Boys, and Hello, Baoyu. In 2023, he further took on the role of Video Director for the stage plays NJ's Trip to Atami and Hard Times.
In the cinematic field, his acute sensitivity to capturing emotions has earned him invitations to shoot film stills and edit promotional trailers for Sylvia Chang’s Hero, as well as Hong Kong Family and The Last Dance. In recent years, his practice has expanded into large-scale orchestral theatre. He designed performance visuals for A Midsummer Night's Dream (starring Sylvia Chang) and Romeo and Juliet (starring David Wang), which toured prestigious venues like the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing and the Shanghai Oriental Art Center.
