Internship Period

 

Summer Internship

• Four weeks in July-August, including the period of 25 July – 7 August
• Office Hours: Mainly Monday – Friday 10am-6.30pm with weekend duties during public events
• Working hours in production week(s) may vary to fit the move-in schedules

 

Project Internship

• At least two weeks between September and December
• Working hours in production week(s) may vary to fit move-in schedules, including weekends
• Students majoring in theatre-related subjects, cultural management, creative media or related field are preferred

 

Requirements

• Age 16 – 29
• Passionate about arts and cultures
• Aspire to pursue a career in multimedia production, stage production or arts administration
• An open team player who is willing to communicate and able to complete tasks independently

▸ What is the scope of work for Zuni interns?

The internship roles we offer include Video Production Intern, Graphic Design Intern, Art-tech/ Production/ Event Assistant. Depending on your skill set, you will be offered the opportunities to work on video shooting, design and production of videos/ props/ publicity materials, front-house support, professional copywriting, etc. Every intern has their own unique and remarkable experience at Zuni!

 

▸ Will Zuni offer trainings to interns?

Successful candidates will be attending a 6-day course “Art Tech ABC” (27 July to 6 August). It is a crash course on six fundamental theatre elements – body, sound, space, technology, symbols and structure – and the application of art tech, such as immersive audio and motion capture.

 

▸ There are plenty of performing arts groups in Hong Kong, why should I go for Zuni?

Zuni is one of the best-known experimental theatre groups in Hong Kong. For 40 years since our establishment, Zuni has always been the pioneer of Art Tech for exploring the possibilities of multi-disciplinary performances. If you are keen to learn more about multimedia production, stage technologies, and avant-garde arts, Zuni is surely your place to go.

 

▸ What is the internship with a performing arts group like?

As a performing arts group, we never work solely in an office space. When there are no performances scheduled, our team works from 10am to 6:30pm at Zuni’s office, situated in the heart of Sheung Wan. When there are events, we need to carry out weekend duties and travel back and forth between theatres, rehearsal spaces, and the office. Have you ever heard of the ‘0923’ schedule? Backstage crews work according to the move-in schedule, the longest working day for them would be from 0900 to 2300!

 

▸ Will there be any remuneration for interns?

Internship allowances will be offered.

 

▸ Upon the completion of the internship, will Zuni employ interns?

We certainly want talented people to stay. Interns with outstanding performance might receive part-time/ full-time work offers.
