STEAM - The Four Great Inventions
International Arts Carnival 2019 Programme
Introduction
Following the acclaimed production Bauhaus – Magic Flute Playground in 2018, Zuni Icosahedron presents STEAM – The Four Great Inventions in 2019.
“Combining 6 design elements with Mozart’s famed opera The Magic Flute, Zuni’s production introduces children to the wonders of their aesthetic world.” – HK01
“A joyous and colourful introduction of the Bauhaus aesthetics to parents and children.” – Delta Chi.
STEAM refers to the five core elements in today’s creative education: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. It encourages students to explore, communicate and critically evaluate the problems before them. Through participation, students learn to solve problems and appreciate the importance of collaboration. They acquire new creative skills via the process of creation itself.
STEAM – The Four Great Inventions is a creative musical for children, embracing the crux of creative education of the 21st century. Through physical trainings, puppetry, hula hoop dance, singing and interactive games, the programme introduces visual and musical stimulus to improve students’ aptitude and interest in learning. It features the four great inventions of China – paper-making, printing, compass and gunpowder – with STEAM methodologies, arousing interest in science, art and Chinese culture. Parents and their children will pick up the essentials of STEAM, as well as understanding the basics of the four great inventions in China.
