A Global Perspective on Cultural Exchange
– An executive training approach
The 2019 Conference is structured as an executive education programme for cultural practitioners and future leaders, to learn about global trends and to gain insights on international cultural practices and strategies, covering core cities under Belt and Road Initiative. With their wealth of hands-on experiences and professional know-how, the invited international experts will take conference participants through a learning process with presentations, dialogues and panel discussions during the two-day event. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with experts and researchers, for inspirational perspectives as well as practical knowledge that would be applicable in their work situation.

Cultural practitioners with extensive experience will be sharing their insight on cultural exchange in the global context, and discuss the potentialities of cultural exchange for HK and China under Belt and Road Initiative.

Professor Hans-Georg KNOPP is a cultural scholar, former Secretary General of the Goethe-Institute. With extensive experience in Asia, he is currently the Senior Strategic International Consultant at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Shanghai.
Ms. Rachel COOPER has been at the Asia Society since 1993 and is the Director for Global Performing Arts and Special Cultural Initiatives, who has developed arts and cultural projects with special focus in Asia.
Professor Yusaku IMAMURA is professor of Global Art Practice at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of Arts. He was founder and Director of Tokyo Wonder Site, and former Counsellor on Special Issue to the Governor, Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
Ms. Minli HAN is a cultural observer and independent researcher, currently a PhD candidate in Cultural Studies in Asia at the National University of Singapore. She is also an entrepreneur who founded Filmgarde Cineplexes in Singapore in 2007.
Cultural Exchange Network Research: report
The report of four on-going researches about cultural exchange networks will be presented, providing an overview of the cultural landscape and exchange activities of 4 x 6 cities under the Belt and Road initiative.

Belt-Road Master Classes
The Belt-Road performing arts master classes advocate dialogue and interaction amongst from Yogyakarta, Phnom Penh, Shanghai and Tokyo with the public. The workshops feature art forms from contemporary dance, traditional/ contemporary Javanese dance, traditional/ contemporary Cambodian dance and Kunqu.
